all kinds of writing
all kinds of writing
I’m taking off blogging for the summer since I no longer have time to putter around on my computer. Also, and more importantly, things are gong well and it’s tough not to sound smug when everything is ticking along nicely. But, for those following my blog and wanting to know a little of what is going on here are a few brief updates.
•Snowflake has mellowed out a little regarding Maple’s arrival and Maple and will sometimes stand up to Snowflake when Snowflake gets too bossy. I might even go so far as to say that they are getting along. This “sort of getting along” has led Maple to quiet down and for this I am VERY grateful. When she was feeling sad and bullied, she bleeted a lot during the day and I worried that she was going to upset my neighbors.
•Maple is giving 10 cups of milk a day. That’s not a lot for a goat, but she only had a single kid and it’s her first lactation. I’m not complaining though, ten cups a day is PLENTY.
•Roberta the silkie is happy, but alone again in the upper yard.
•Beep fits in well with the rest of my laying flock, but she still hasn’t laid an egg yet.
Questions do remain. Is Snowflake pregnant? Did Bosco get his job done? Snowflake doesn’t look any bigger, but hope springs eternal. Maybe she’s pregnant and just not showing or maybe she got pregnant just six weeks ago, days before Bosco left?
Also, I went to Cirque Du Soleil this past week. There’s a part in it where the Clown King gets a pet rat and the rat poops. The Clown King then scoops the poop into a bag and throws the bag into the audience. What are the chances of me catching the rat poop? Very small, and yet, catch it I did. Is this a sign? Is the god of rats onto me? Or maybe, I’m onto the god of rats and my catch signifies that it’s all over for those nasty critters.
Stay tuned, one of these days I’ll have some time and perhaps a bit of inspiration to continue my blog.
